As a Constitutionalist I often ponder why our three branches of the U.S. government, operate outside the confines of the U.S. Constitution?  From Roe v Wade, SCHIP, and non declared wars we see if we hold these examples up to the U.S. Constitution, they will not pass muster.   One can only conclude that the men and women behind these unconstitutional laws and actions are powerholics.  They are addicted to the power of their respective offices and can not help themselves.  They need a 12 step program.   Here it is:

1                    I admit I’m powerless over power.  My political life in seeking power is out of control

2                    I’ve come to believe that a political power greater than myself could restore me to sanity

3                    I’ve made a decision to turn my political will and life over to the Constitution as the founding father understood it.

4                    Make a moral and serious constitutional survey of myself and my political life

5                    Admit to God, country and ourselves the exact nature of my wrongs

6                    I’m entirely ready for God and the Constitution to remove these defects

7                    Humbly ask God to remove my shortcomings

8                    Make a list of everyone that I have harmed and be willing to make amends to them all

9                    Make direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others

10                Continue to take Constitutional inventory, and when I’m wrong promptly admit it

11                Seek through reading and meditation of the Constitution and improve our knowledge of it and pray to God for the will to carry it out

12                Having had a Constitutional awakening as a result of these steps, I try to carry this message to other powerholics and practice these principles in all our affairs.

Folks we need to help our government to realize their shortcomings when it come to the Constitution and the limits it puts on the government.   Only then will we become a great country once again and secure the blessing of God for us and our posterity.
